President’s Report – Outlook for 2016

Extracts from Prof Nimier’s end of 2017 report:

2017 was a year of growth at AUOL, as we began executing the vision set out in 2013/ 2014 and expanding our global presence. We saw good student growth, up 8%.

As in previous years we believe that we fulfilled our commitment to provide quality education by distance learning to our students worldwide. The positive feedback we get from them and from our affiliates validates this belief.

In 2014 /2017 we entered into a number of reciprocity agreements with other universities in the USA and elsewhere for the award of reciprocal and dual degrees to our graduates We will continue this endeavour in 2018.

We entered new geographic areas in 2014 and 2017. Our networks of affiliates continue to expand in China, Africa and South America.

Best Performing Programs

As in 2017, best performing programs continue to be in the following disciplines:

  • Diploma & BA Nutrition: student growth UP 15%
  • MBA (top rated international MBA programs by Global Academic): student growth in 2017 UP 12%
  • BA/MA Child Development: student growth UP 10%

We face 2018 with confidence and optimism.

2018 will continue to be a year of consolidation and continued growth. We stand well equipped to face the new year (our 32nd since the foundation of the University in 1984) armed with exciting new programs in a world of accelerating change. We will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and above all excellence in education.

I want to thank our affiliates and students around the world for their continued belief and support of the university. I am confident that we are on the right path and we will continue to deliver value for our students, affiliates and academic faculty worldwide. Our success is based on the simple fact that AUOL is held together by something much stronger than bricks and mortar: the power of learning.
